Act 4, Question 7

What differences are there among the reactions of Paris, the Nurse, Lord Capulet, and Lady Capulet to Juliet's "death"?

  1. They all reacted in sadness and shame. The Nurse I believe felt the most sorrow. Even though she is not related, the Nurse has done more for Juliet then her parents ever would.

  2. They were all very sad that Juliet was "dead". The Nurse said she wished she'd never been born. Lady Capulet was all like "O, hateful day!" Lord Capulet was like "I'm sorry Paris, but it looks like she married Death instead. Paris was acting like he'd never be happy EVER again. He even went to her grave to give her wedding flowers.

  3. They all basically all were in different stages of dealing with death. The Nurse was on step one, regret. She wished she was never born and wished it was her and not Juliet to die. Lady Capulet was on stage two, madness. She was ticked off about her daughters death. Wishing the one to make her do it would be put in flames. Paris was fully in stage three (witch could be the last stage) which is depression. He basically the sun would never shine for him again, it would only rain. The final stage is cooping with it, the stage that Lord Capulet was on, which is just pulling your crap together. He basically just said, "well, it's an end to another life, a new chapter for our lives." As you can see, they were going through the different stages of dealing with death.
