Generally, Shakespeare did not portray weddings unless there was something of overriding dramtic importance which happens at the wedding. They are not interesting enough.
He may have left it out because either 1 it was too boring, 2 he didn't want to write vows from a 14 teen year old, or 3 it wasn't dramatic enough, or 4 he didn't want to watch two men, back in his time, get married.

ReplyDeleteMaybe Shakespeare thought there was much more important to write about other than mushy gooshy vows from a 14 year old.

ReplyDeleteHe probably left out the wedding so that the actors would feel just a bit less awkward. That, or he just thought weddings were boring.

ReplyDeleteI believe that he didn't either want to make people get faked married, or he just thought it wasn't that importent.
