Act 2, Question 2

After exchanging vows of love in scene 2, Juliet says "I have no joy of this contact to-night." What do you think she means by this?

  1. I think this means she was not joyful about having this particular conversation. Juliet and Romeo were talking about him being banned and that dampened her mood a bit.

  2. I think it means that she was afraid that Romeo would forget his promise in the morning and leave her high and dry, jsut as so many guys do.

  3. I agree, Juliet doesn't want to go in deep conversation about what they are talking about. She probably felt uncomfortable talking about that topic. It probably ruined the romantic mood.

  4. I believe she means the midnight meets are something she wasn't fond of.
